Flat-Bottom Dadoes

Inexpensive dado sets (and wobble blades) leave a rounded bottom that don't look very good. Even a good "stacked" set can cut less than perfect dadoes. One solution is to cut the dado shallower than needed, then use a dado-cleaning bit in the router. The bottom has two-cutting flutes that are ground dead flat. A bearing rides against the sides of the dado. As you can see, the result is a flat-bottomed dado every time.
